Performance

The GXT5 uses online double-conversion technology, continuously converting incoming AC power and regenerating the output. This provides power conditioning and protects connected equipment from voltage and frequency disturbances.

It also provides zero transfer time, because the inverter continuously supplies the connected load during normal operation and when the utility supply fails. The system provides pure sine-wave output and voltage/frequency regulation for critical equipment.

The UPS can operate at efficiencies of up to 95% in online mode and up to 99% in Active ECO mode, depending on operating conditions.

Battery Backup

The 10kVA GXT5 includes an internal battery system and supports compatible external battery cabinets for longer backup periods.

Vertiv’s published specifications for the 10kVA model give approximately 9.5 minutes of battery runtime at full load under specified test conditions. Actual runtime varies according to load, battery condition and operating temperature.

The system also features hot-swappable internal batteries, while external battery cabinets can be added when additional runtime is required.

Rack/Tower Design

The rack/tower convertible design allows the UPS to be installed horizontally in a server rack or vertically as a tower. This provides flexibility for data centres, server rooms and other installations where available floor or rack space varies.

The unit measures approximately 217mm high, 430mm wide and 630mm deep, with a weight of about 74.5kg.

Monitoring and Management

The GXT5 10kVA includes a full-colour graphic LCD for monitoring and configuration. The built-in Vertiv Liebert IntelliSlot RDU120 network interface card provides network-based monitoring and management, including SNMP support.

The UPS also supports remote firmware upgrades and monitoring through Vertiv’s management solutions.
